There are going to be three judges judging each event of the contest and auditions. We are going to have two permanent judges who will judge every week. We are going to have the third judge rotate every week to keep the perspectives fresh!

JenzineWebzine Miles: Jenzine is the first French RL online music magazine established on Second Life. He maintains the Jenzine Island musicians mall/Hall Of Fame and the "Note", a musical venue. You can check out Jenzine or read further about him in a recent SL Looking Glass interview!

Zuri Bisiani: Hello this is Zuri here in Sl enjoying the people I meet here. Love to explore SL and of course love to shop. I am a very kind person in SL & RL very friendly also. So please leave the drama behind I don't like it.

I am a dj here and I play at The Yard Club every Friday at 2pm -4pm. Playing tunes you love to dance to ( reggae, slow jams, ole School and some hip-hop, and jazz).

Preciousse Moody: Preciousse Moody is singer/songwriter/producer/scratch DJ from Toronto Canada. She comes from a family of music professionals, and has an 'ear' like you wouldn't believe. She brings her unbiased and straightforward views and approach in her involvement in Second Life's music scene.

It is what it is with Preciousse, if you're good you're good. If you're bad.. well she'll tell you. If she says you can't sing, doesn't mean she doesn't recognize your songwriting potential or vice versa.

Doubledown Tandino: Doubledown Tandino is a professional in Marketing and Promotion as well as a DJ, Music Producer, & Event Producer and has been for over 15 years. Doubledown has created or performed in over 5000 events in the United States & over 200 projects & events within Second Life. Just recently, he decided to leave his hometown of Baltimore, Maryland as a marketing & entertainment director at a restaurant corporation to pursue new professional projects and create possibilities in Florida & within Second Life.

Best of SL LIVE is the latest effort by the Best of SL Team to bring out the best of SL for everyone else to enjoy. This contest is for the LIVE solo singers and bands of SL - a chance for them to pit their talents against those of other LIVE vocalists - a chance to win L$50,000 and the title of the Best of Second Life Live Vocalist.

Instructions for contestants for The Best of Second Life LIVE competition:

There are two components of the competition:

1. The Audition Process:

We will be holding LIVE auditions at the One World Live Arena

All interested entrants are required to enroll in the "Best of SL LIVE" group (L$100 entry fee) by the 15th of November. Auditions start November 17th. Contestants are required to have their own audio stream and will be allowed to audition in front of our judges and perform up to 2 songs (total of 5 minutes).

At the end of the audition process, 10 contestants from each category - solo and band -will be chosen to compete against each other.

2. The Performances:

Each week beginning January 5th 2008, all contestants will perform LIVE for the judges at a different music club in SL and will be rated by them. After this, all SL citizens will be able to vote for their favorite performer at the Best of SL LIVE website (http://www.bestofsllive.com).

In each subsequent week, two contestants in each category - solo and band - will be eliminated based on votes from SL citizens.

On February 9th, 2008, will be a final showdown between the last artist standing in each category, but there will only be ONE winner. SLers will choose their favorite vocal artist and give them the title "Best of Second Life LIVE!"

Whoa, looks like I have created quite a bit of a flutter in the live music sphere of SL than I thought I possibly could Here is my explanation of my motives behind the contest....feel free to ask me if you have anything else you need cleared up

1. We are not going to be differentiating by
styles for a reason - people already go to live music concerts of
genres they like. There is nothing to make them sample or listen
closely to someone of a genre they might not care for. This will make
people listen to a blend of styles and genres and hopefully broaden a
few horizons

2. We are going to have two permanent judges throughout the contest and
one rotating judge position to bring a fresh perspective - one of our
permanent judges is Sir Brennen, a DJ/Performance Hall owner. We are
still looking for a second permanent judge. Some of our rotating judges
will be Doubledown and Prince Sonoda (of the SL Enquirer).

We are pleased to announce that we have now partnered with AvaStar, the leading tabloid for Second Life citizens in our efforts to promote the live musicians of Second Life via our contest's spotlight. AvaStar's sponsorship will give us enough reach in-world to attract as many live musicians as possible into our contest.
